Day 187- Arguing Professionally

Although it was a spur-of-the-moment decision, Grace and I joined the debate team, which is just a way of saying that you're arguing professionally. I don't know what possessed me to do it, but I suppose I thought it'd just be fun, and something I could do instead of band. (In case I didn't say, I decided to quit band, because 160$ to join is too much money to do something I didn't even particularly want to do.)
So, debate team. That's a hoot and a half if I ever saw one. For the first half, we learned the terminology and debate styles. In the second half (and for half an hour later) we watched the senior debaters have an example debate. It's the first week, so it's quite interesting to watch all the formats and how these people can come up with highly logical speeches in only ten minutes.
I know it sound nerdy, but think of this:
Is it scarier to put a ball in a net with twenty kids at your side or to give a six minute speech you had ten minutes to prepare for with no one but your team of two of just partner?
