Since Melanie's first communion was today and her birthday's tomorrow, she opened all her presents today; including the fruits of my insanity for the last three weeks. I speak of course, of The Complete Lyrics Of Alice Cooper. Every word to every song from 1969- 1994. All handwritten on printer paper. The book turned out great! The lyrics are readable, the fun facts are interesting, the indexes are handy and the pictures didn't seem out of place.
All this time I spent in the office, I told Melanie that I was making her an animation, using Scratch programming. The hilarious thing is, I actually made her a simple animation, but I learned how to put sound into it, so it could look like I spent 3 hours a day for weeks working on it. After it finished, she started to leave and I asked her if she really thought I only got her an animation for her birthday. I went to the office closet and pulled out a plain white bag. Inside, there was two sheets of white tissue paper, and a package, first wrapped in a sheet of white, then two sheets of green, then two more sheets of white, and a bubble wrap bag.
The priceless look on her face when she flipped through it for the first time.
Every hand cramp, every time I complained, it all disappeared from memory. Because if I can make someone use that expression, it's worth it.
Feel the good feels, my people.
P. S. I don't know what "feel the good feels" means, but it sounds like something some hippy said once. I'm going to start saying that to people. Like when Bryn wishes me a merry Christmas when we part ways on a daily basis.
