Only today did I notice a review I got on the Doors fanfic I posted on Rockfic. I'm going to have to post it here to properly gush.
"This is really, really good. I do enjoy reading these little slice of life fics; you manage to create a believable OFC with very little apparent effort and not too many details - that's a rare skill, and it's something we will always, always need more of! I'm not a fan of The Doors (although I like their music), but I really enjoyed this piece."
For those who don't speak the fanfic lingo, OFC means Original Female Character.
When I first read it, I was literally as excited as when I found out there was such a thing as Rock fanfics. I practically screamed. If 1987 Paul Stanley invited me to kiss him, I probably would have an identical reaction.
For my first go, it's pretty gratifying. I always had a little scene I'd play out in my head, where I'd hear Jim Morrison playing the first Doors record, and I'd be confused because The Doors hadn't released a record yet. I'd ask him where he got it, and we'd engage in some sort of adult activity.
As that was the highlight of my day, I have very little to write about. Hold up, not yet.
In these fanfics, I'm always reading about Axl Rose's deep voice, and I think 'I've heard his voice, it's not that deep', then I read one that mentions you wouldn't suspect how deep his voice is from his singing. Of course, I was intruiged. I searched YouTube for an interview with Axl. HIS VOICE IS SCARILY DEEP! I laughed my head off, and today, I played CJ the same video. Same reaction of shock, disbelief and humor. Hilarious to watch. That was a pretty good part of the day.
That's bout it.
