Worry not about me, dear folks. The heartbreak is not as bad as it one would think. I was watching Queen music vides during this surprise snow day of mine, and I saw the video for "Who Wants To Live Forever?" and started wondering about what exactly happened when Freddie Mercury died. So, I wrote another drabble about it. (drabble = 100 word-long story)
I started with the final line, then finished off the rest of the 100 words. At the time of this post, there are 35 hits, 2 recommendations, 3 hearts, and 1 review.
I'm quite proud of my mini tale, even though I almost made a horrible mistake (fixed it, though).
They were all gathered around the bed.
Their friend, bandmate, and essentially, leader was in that bed. Eaten away from the inside out. No one could stop it in time, and now it was too late.
It all seemed so final. A long time coming, for sure, but no one ever thought it’d take him down.
Every eye in the room was leaking.
The man in the bed lifted a hand slowly to the nearest face and wiped away a tear. He couldn’t bear to see them cry over him. It hurt him.
“Guys, it’s okay.” Freddie whispered. “I’m ready.”
The one person who left a review seemed to like it quite a bit.
Jesus this was sad. I can imagine Freddy's passing occurred in a way that was very similar to this. Wow. This hurt to think about. Excellent drabble.
To be honest, I had a whole bunch of fun writing it and cackled at the heartbreak I caused.
